Part of the A12 has reopened after an overturned lorry closed the northbound carriageway near Eight Ash Green.

Police were called to the overturned vehicle near Colchester at around 6am this morning, but just after 9.30am Essex County Council confirmed the incident had been cleared.

The overturned lorry caused severe delays on the Ipswich-bound carriageway with queues building back to Marks Tey as both lanes were shut.
