A FOOTBALL fan collapsed and died at an Ipswich Town game at Portman Road.
He was in the in the north stand when he was thought to have suffered a heart attack at about 3.30pm on Saturday.
The man, from the Sudbury area and understood to be in his 70s, collapsed in the bar area.
A Suffolk Police spokeswoman said: “We received reports that there had been a sudden death, that an elderly gentleman in the north stand had suffered a suspected cardiac arrest.
“Officers and the Ambulance Service attended and his next of kin have now been made aware.”
An Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We have a team at the ground for every match and they called us.”
Ipswich beat Charlton Athletic 2-0
The man has not been named yet.
