WILDLIFE lovers can look forward to the return this week of the Felixstowe Suffolk Wildlife Trust group’s Friday evening nature walks.

With five Fridays in the month there is a great chance to join one or more of the events, which always start at 7.30pm and cost £2 with no booking required, just turn up.

A group spokeswoman said: “The walks are a superb way to get to know many of our local hidden beauty spots and to learn a little about our local birds and wildflowers.”

The walks start on Friday, May 3 with a trip to Loompit Lake in Trimley St Martin (map reference TM265376) – a lovely country walk to the freshwater lake separated by a river wall from the River Orwell, next to Trimley Foreshore, and a haven for birds.

Then on May 10 the walk will set out to explore Kyson Point at Woodbridge (TM266478).

May 17 will be a visit to the Newbourne Springs nature reserve (TM274433) and a chance to hear nightingales sing, May 24, an evening with Bromswell Suffolk Wildlife Trust (TM296504), and on May 31, walkers will head out from Falkenham church (TM294390).

Warm clothes and sturdy footwear are recommended for the evenings – further details from Dave Langlois on 01394 210535.
