TWO armed robbers have today been found guilty of carrying out raids on security vans in Ipswich.

Leroy Hardy and Steven Blacklaw jointly carried out an armed robbery on a Securicor van on November 18, 2005 in which a security guard was threatened with a gun.

Hardy then returned to the scene on February 10 this year and, with an accomplice, threatened to burn a guard with lighter fluid if his colleague did not hand over cash.

Today Hardy, 38, of Tulse Hill, Brixton and Steven Blacklaw, 25, of London Road, Hemel Hempstead were convicted by a jury at Ipswich Crown Court.

Hardy was sentenced to 16 years in prison and Blacklaw to nine years.
