Pedestrian Priscilla Shaw, 83, from Ingatestone, died after she was involved in a collision with a car on Park Road in the town at about 6pm on Friday.
And yesterday a 79-year-old grandfather was killed as a result of a two-vehicle accident on the A414 in Chelmsford at about 4.25pm.
His three-year-old granddaughter, who was also in the car along with the man's wife and daughter, is in London's Great Ormond Street Hospital with serious head injuries.
