POLICE are today calling for witnesses to two Ipswich street robberies which took place less than 24 hours apart.The first happened around 10.45pm on Friday while the 19-year-old victim was outside L'Apres wine bar making a phone call.

POLICE are today calling for witnesses to two Ipswich street robberies which took place less than 24 hours apart.

The first happened around 10.45pm on Friday while the 19-year-old victim was outside L'Apres wine bar making a phone call.

He was barged from behind and his mobile phone was taken by two men. The men are described as white males. One was around 16 years old and about 5ft 5ins. He was wearing a white baseball cap and black zip up padded jacket. The other man was around 5ft 11ins, also about 16 years old, with short hair at the sides and longer on top.

The second robbery happened at around 5.20pm on Saturday in St Stephens Church Lane.

The 13-year-old female victim was grabbed by the wrist by a man who asked her for money. When she refused he got out what looked like a knife. At this point the girl gave him a small amount of money. Two boys then entered the lane and the attacker ran off.

He is described as a white male of large build and around 5ft 7in. He wore a black hat and black jeans and trainers.
