Two women were in hospital on Thursday night – one with “potentially life-changing leg injuries” – after a two-vehicle crash in Ipswich.

A Fiat Punto and a Suzuki Splash were involved in a collision at the junction of Nacton Road and Landseer Road at 4.20pm today, police said.

Firefighters cut free two motorists who were trapped following the crash, the force spokesman added.

Two women – one in her late teens and another in her 20s – were injured in the collision, an ambulance spokesman said. He said one suffered “potentially life-changing leg injuries” and the other suffered neck pain. Both had not suffered life-threatening injuries, though, and both were taken to Ipswich Hospital, he added.

Police carried out collision investigation work at the scene.
