An underground cable fault cut power to more than 100 homes and businesses in Ipswich today.
The power outage affected a number of town centre shops from 11.15am.
UK Power Networks said the widespread interruption was caused by an underground electricity cable fault in its high voltage network.
At its height, the problem had hit 131 customers. By 12.45pm, the number of affected customers was down to 74 across two post codes.
A spokeswoman for the operator said: “UK Power Networks engineers are on site working to restore power to customers in Ipswich town centre following a fault at 11.15am on the electricity network.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
