A description has been issued of the man who carried out an alleged assault on a woman in Ipswich yesterday.
A woman in her 20s was walking along Burrell road at about 8am on Saturday when she was allegedly approached by a man who forced her into some nearby bushes, told her he had a knife and physically assaulted her, causing head and stomach injuries.
The attacker is then said to have tried to sexually assault the woman, who attempted to fight him off. He is reported to have ran off in the direction of Ipswich train station.
The man is described as mixed race with blue eyes, big eyebrows and a dark goatee beard.
He is believed to have spoken with a London accent and is described as wearing a light blue shellsuit top with a hood and a large V shape on the back.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information that could help police with their enquiries is asked to contact Ipswich CID on 101 quoting reference number IC/14/5161.
