A man has been charged following allegations of an attempted rape of a young woman in Ipswich in the early hours of yesterday morning (Friday).
Police were deployed to the area of Rope Walk, Ipswich at around 1.45am, after a member of the public called in saying they could hear a woman shouting for help.
The woman was found in an area off Rope Walk, near to the junction with Milner Street and a man was arrested nearby.
Adam Bonner, 31, of Ipswich Close, Sutton Heath, was arrested on suspicion of attempted rape and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
He has since been charged with attempted rape and sexual assault and will appear before South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court this morning, Saturday.
