Emergency services called to Hamilton Road, Felixstowe, after child involved in a road crash.
The incident happened at 5.11pm, and involved a girl, thought to be aged four.
She has been rushed to Ipswich Hospital in a serious condition.
The East of England Ambulance Service sent an ambulance, ambulance officer and two rapid response vehicles to the scene, with the first emergency workers on scene within three-and-a-half minutes.
Suffolk police have closed the road for investigative work, and the street is likely to remain shut until at least 10pm.
