TRIBUTES to US Baseball star Cory Lidle were flooding in from across the world after he died in a plane crash in New York.
Lidle and his flying instructor were killed when their plane crashed into a building in Manhatten. At first there were fears this could be another terrorist attack and the US Airforce was put on alert - but the authorities soon accepted it was a tragic accident.
Initially there were fears that people in the building had died, but by this morning recovery teams were sure only Lidle and the other person on the plane was killed.
