A SUFFOLK band is today eagerly awaiting the launch of a new Hollywood film after learning that their one of their songs will feature on the soundtrack.
Songs From The Blue House were thrilled when they discovered that one of their songs will be played in the background of a scene from an American movie.
The premiere of Coyote Country Loser is due to take place in Los Angeles tomorrow but because it has not got the rights to be distributed yet, the band will have a long wait until they can see their moment of fame.
Ipswich-based Shane Kirk, one of the singers in the band and co-writer of the track together with James Partridge, said: “We were really shocked and surprised that our song would be used in a Hollywood film. If you are living in Ipswich, to find out that someone in LA wants to use your song is huge.
“We are hoping it gets picked up. We hope that it will get distributed over here so that we can spread the word.”
The band, which describes itself as acoustic-based with a mixture of pop, country and folk, have played at numerous venues over the six years since they were formed, ranging from pubs to folk festivals.
The band's Essex-based record label High Barn has connections with an agency in LA, which is how their song came to the attention of film-makers.
The film, a romantic comedy made by a small production company, is set in California and tells the story of a struggling radio station which is helped by an LA disc jockey.
The song Bear Town Road, taken from their album Tree, is played in the background of a scene when the lead male character and female get together for the first time.

The band's core trio is Shane, James and Gibbon, who sings and plays the bass, euphonium, trombone and keyboard.
However several other talented musicians make up the band, some of whom play occasionally. Other members include Helen Mulley - flute and singing, Richard Lockwood - fiddle, Tony Winn - banjo, Tony Turrell - piano, Paul Read- drums/percussion, and Russ Barnes - Dobro, banjo, guitar and mandolin. With special guest appearances as well, they can be as many as 16 people on stage at times.
