But today Ipswich man Andrew Purdy is adamant that he is not the killer and is merely a friend to prostitutes in the town.
The Evening Star caught up with Mr Purdy as police revealed they were keen to talk to him as part of their huge murder inquiry - they have now spoken to him in connection with the killings.
