MOTORISTS are being advised to take extra care today with poor weather conditions expected.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said: “Due to the poor weather conditions today, with high winds and rain already affecting the county, we would like to remind all motorists to slow down, and to use dipped head lights at all times.

“High winds are predicted throughout the day and Operation Stack has been in place at Felixstowe since 7.45am.

“Restrictions to the port are anticipated to continue throughout the day due to the winds, and we would urge anyone approaching Felixstowe today to bear in mind that they may encounter slow moving or stationery traffic due to Operation Stack and to approach the area with care, and to slow down.”
