A Suffolk family’s appeal to help a seven-year-old who broke both collarbones in a serious crash has gone viral.

The family of Jacee Fisk from Suffolk put out an appeal for people to send the youngster get well soon cards after she broke both collarbones in the collision.

Firefighters, police and paramedics were sent to the crash, which involved a car and two lorries, but 43-year-old Mr Fisk, from Kesgrave, died at the scene near Mendlesham on July 25.

Jacee was airlifted to Norfolk and Norwich Hospital with serious injuries and is now recovering at home.

Thousands of people have shared a viral Facebook post written by Jacee’s great aunt Gillian Colchester asking people to send her messages of support.

She wrote: “So this is my great niece Jacee. On Tuesday she was involved in a horrific RTA (road traffic accident) involving two lorries and their car. Tragically her daddy was killed.

“Jacee is now at home recovering with her family.

“It would be lovely if we could send her some get well cards to show that people are thinking of her and her daddy at this time.

“The summer holidays are not going to be enjoyable for her so any diversion will help to brighten her days.” She added: “It would make her day to get some mail.

“Let’s keep that brave smile going.”

Lorry driver Dalius Matulaitis, of Rectory Gardens, Wisbech, was charged with causing the death of Mr Fisk by dangerous driving and seriously injuring Mr Fisk’s seven-year-old daughter.

He made his first appearance via video link from Martlesham police investigation centre.

No plea was entered because the accusation of death by dangerous driving can only be heard by a crown court.

Magistrates denied an application for bail. He was remanded in custody until his next hearing which will be before Ipswich Crown Court on August 24.
