HELEN Hollinworth and Jen Hawkins, Senior Teaching Practitioners at Suffolk College, have won the prestigious 'British Journal of Nursing Clinical Practice Awards 2002 – Wound Care category'.
HELEN Hollinworth and Jen Hawkins, Senior Teaching Practitioners at Suffolk College, have won the prestigious 'British Journal of Nursing Clinical Practice Awards 2002 – Wound Care category'.
The awards ceremony and celebrations were held at the Savoy Hotel in London.
For more than a year Helen Hollinworth, who teaches nurses about caring for patients with leg ulcers and other tissue damage, and Jen Hawkins, who teaches counselling and psychology, have been researching the psychological support of patients who have wounds.
The work has involved over 50 nurses from East Suffolk.
The research will now be published so that other nurses and patients can benefit.
