SUFFOLK Police are appealing for information after a teenager was assaulted as he walked in Bury St Edmunds.The 16-year-old was walking along a bridle path from Beetons Way towards Newmarket Road at about 9pm on Saturday when he became aware of a man standing in the shadow of the trees.

The 16-year-old was walking along a bridle path from Beetons Way towards Newmarket Road at about 9pm on Saturday when he became aware of a man standing in the shadow of the trees.
The man then walked towards the youth and demanded money. When the youngster said he did not have any money, the offender punched him in the face and fled in the direction of Beetons Way.
The victim suffered slight reddening to the face from the blow but didn't require medical treatment.
The offender is described as white, about 6ft, of slim build with facial stubble. He was wearing black clothing and a black woolly hat, Nike trainers in white with a blue and yellow tick on the side.
