TRAFFIC built up along a two-mile stretch of the A14 today while emergency services cut a woman out of a car near Nacton.

The woman was freed from the Daewoo car which had crashed into the central reservation on the westbound carriageway opposite the Nacton turnoff at about 9am.

She was taken by ambulance to Ipswich Hospital but emergency services at the scene said they did not believe her injuries were life threatening .

Police officers at the crash site blamed the damp road surface and rush hour congestion for the smash.

It is believed the car skidded across the road from the inside carriageway after braking.

Traffic stacked up for more than two miles back to the Seven Hills interchange as the road was cleared.
