ROAD rage left a 28-year-old woman with a nasty bump to the head after a man slammed her head against the car bonnet.

The assault happened on the A1071 road at Sproughton at about 4.05pm on Saturday .

The woman, who was driving a Renault Clio, approached the traffic lights at the Holiday Inn, when the driver in a car behind sounded the horn.

When the woman got out of her car to see what the problem was, a man in a dark coloured R-registration Ford Mondeo, became verbally aggressive and assaulted her.

He grabbed her face and wrist and then smacked her head against the car.

He is described as white, of medium build, about 5ft 9ins, and aged between 35 and 40, with short dark hair. He was wearing a polo neck jumper, black jeans and brown trainers.

He drove off towards Ipswich.
