The accident took place at 5.43am on the A1066 at Shadwell, near Thetford, on the Norfolk/Suffolk border.
Three ambulances, a doctor and a clinical field operation manager were dispatched to the scene, arriving within ten minutes of the crash.
One of the drivers was treated for minor injuries, while the woman was cut out of the car complaining of neck pains. She was taken to the West Suffolk Hospital.
A spokesman for the ambulance service said the seriousness of the woman's injuries were currently unknown.
