AN elderly woman was airlifted to hospital with serious head injuries following an accident on the A143 in Suffolk.The 77-year-old female pedestrian was involved in an accident with a Volvo car at just before 4pm at the Wattisfield junction of the road.
AN elderly woman was airlifted to hospital with serious head injuries following an accident on the A143 in Suffolk.
The 77-year-old female pedestrian was involved in an accident with a Volvo car at just before 4pm at the Wattisfield junction of the road.
Police closed the road until shortly after 8pm while crash investigators examined the scene.
An ambulance service spokesperson said an air ambulance was scrambled and the casualty was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridgeshire with serious head injuries.
