A WOMAN was taken to hospital last night after being freed from the wreckage of her car.
Firefighters worked for nearly an hour using hydraulic cutting equipment to free the woman after her car crashed into a fence in Church Road, Hawstead, near Bury St Edmunds.
The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance after being released.
Three firecrews, including an emergency rescue tender, from Bury were called to the scene just after 10.30pm.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said the road was closed for a time while the emergency services worked at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved.
