Suffolk violinist Rosemary Hinton will be celebrating the music of her grandfather.
Cyril, like Rosemary, was well known for his aptitude for the violin and played with many of the big bands during the 1930s and 40s.
Rosemary undertook a great deal of research into her grandfather’s work at the British Library.
Recently, Cyril’s daughter Rosemary’s mother Vivien discovered an old recording of one of her father’s pieces with his brother Clifford, who was an accomplished pianist.
After a great search the sheet music for the song was found in a piano stool and will now be premiered at the concert.
Also featured will be records recently discovered by Vivien of the two Hillier brothers recorded in the early 20th century.
The concert will take place at Great Bealings Church on March 25 at 5pm.
