ORGANISERS of a junior football team today told of their frustration after vandals again targeted the field where youngsters play.

Management of Felixstowe Hawks, which has more than 60 girls and boys on its books, says equipment has been broken by yobs in the past.

Now, the club's storage area is being regularly daubed with rude and vile slogans.

Chairman Ward James said: “It's just not very nice at all for young children to see some of the things which have been written on our container.

“We are getting fed up with it being targeted and we would like the parents of the youngsters who hang around the field and do this to say something to their children and stop them doing this.”

The Hawks, which runs four teams at Harper's Field off Seaton Road for children aged eight to 13, has used the site for 15 years.

Mr James said as well as the graffiti, there are also increasing problems with litter.

The club has been liaising with schools in the area to see if they can take action to stop students going to the field at lunchtime.

Mr James said: “The club wants the field to be a nice place for people of all ages to use and enjoy.

“We don't want to have to keep repainting and cleaning off these horrible words and having the children asking what they mean.”
