A 12-YEAR-OLD boy has been taken to hospital after he was involved in a collision with a car.

The crash happened in Halesworth this afternoon as the boy was riding his bicycle along Norwich Road, near to the police station.

Suffolk police have blocked off the road while the crash site is investigated but local diversions are in place.

The collision happened at just after 3.45pm and involved Citroen estate car registered in the town.

It is believed the boy's injuries are not serious, but he is being treated at the James Paget Hospital.

A police spokesperson said the crash had “propelled” the boy from his bike but he was breathing and conscious when paramedics arrived on scene.
