IT'S very young to make your stage debut, but tiny Mia Peacock Reid will doing just that tonight at the tender age of six weeks!

Baby Mia will be making her first performance on stage as part of the opening night production of the musical Half A Sixpence at Felixstowe's Spa Pavilion.

The cast and crew of Stage Door Theatre Company say baby's mum will be just inches away, keeping an eye on everything from the wings.

Half a Sixpence, sponsored by The Evening Star, will run at the 913-seater venue until Saturday at 7.30pm nightly. There will also be a matinee on the Saturday at 2.30pm.

Tomorrow's performance is being signed for the deaf by Ivan Osborne on stage.

The show – based on the novel Kipps by HG Wells – is set in London and Kent, and tells the story of Arthur Kipps, his romance and how the story develops when he is left an inheritance.

This show is full of big production numbers, including Flash Bang Wallop, If I Had Money To Burn, A Proper Gentleman, It Its Gonna Rain, and The Party's On The House to name but a few.

Loveable Kipps is played by Darren Scriven, from Woodbridge, who is just 18, and his leading lady Ann is played by 15-year-old Rachel Foskett, from Ipswich.
