YOUNGSTERS from Ipswich are to be given a once-in-a-lifetime chance to visit Downing Street.

Ipswich's Labour MP Chris Mole today announced he is looking for a young person from Ipswich to attend a reception at the Prime Minister's official home.

The reception - taking place on November 14 between 5.30pm and 7.30pm - will celebrate the achievements and great potential of young adults from all around the country.

Mr Mole is running a competition to decide who should attend the reception.

He said: “This is a fantastic opportunity not only for a young person from our town to gain a rare glimpse behind Britain's most iconic front door - but also for politicians to listen and learn from the experiences of young people.”

In order to be considered, entrants must write in no more than 100 words on why they would like to visit 10 Downing Street.

The 100 words should also include a little bit about themselves including current educational, and any extra-curricular pursuits such as sports of voluntary work presently involved in.

To enter, e-mail leedera@parliament.uk or write to Chris Mole MP, House of Commons, London, SW1A 0AA. The deadline for entries is November 8.

Entrants must live in the Ipswich constituency and be aged between 16 and 24.
