Schoolchildren have been given a lesson about how to travel safely thanks to a bus company.

More than 130 youngsters from Ranelagh Primary School spent Monday morning with First Eastern Counties.

Children from nursery to Year 2 learnt how to stay safe while travelling on the bus with First’s mascot, Freddie the frog. They also learnt how to board the bus safely and avoid danger on the roads.

Chris Speed, business manager for the company, said: “The pupils asked some brilliant questions and we hope they will feel safe and confident when travelling. First operates a number of school services across the country and safety is one of our highest priorities.

“We’d like to thank the students and staff at Ranelagh Primary School for working with us on this project.”
