Where will you see The Queen when she comes to Suffolk on her golden jubilee tour?

For 1,000 lucky Evening Star readers there will be a first-class view of the monarch as she pays her first official visit to Ipswich since the silver jubilee in 1977.

We want to hear from people and families in the Felixstowe, Ipswich, Woodbridge, and Stowmarket areas who would like a grandstand view of the festivities on July 17.

The day will be the highlight of Suffolk's golden jubilee celebrations as The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh tour the county.

They'll be meeting schoolchildren, craftsmen and women, business leaders, charity workers – people representing a real cross-section of Suffolk life.

But thousands of others will be cheering them on during the visit, trying to snatch a quick glimpse of the royal couple as they glide past in their official car.

But for 1,000 lucky Star readers, the view could not be better.

Arrangements have already been made for thousands of schoolchildren, charity workers, and civic dignitaries to get a good view of the visit.

And we have tickets to give away to our readers to allow you to share in the excitement of the royal visit.

We've got special tickets to see The Queen and Prince Phillip as they visit Ipswich marina during their 70-minute visit to the town's Waterfront area on July 17.

Her Majesty will be accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh during the tour which will also include a visit to the Felaw Maltings business centre and visits to Stowmarket and Bury St Edmunds.

Hundreds of schoolchildren will be given the morning off lessons to see the Queen during her tour of the county.

Busloads of pupils will bring them to the Waterfront area of Ipswich while more will be on hand to see the Royal couple's helicopter land in Alexandra Park.

Children from three primary schools in Felixstowe will come to Ipswich on a special train arranged by The Evening Star in association with Anglia Railways.

And during her visit, the Queen will inaugurate our new press and start the printing of that day's paper through a video link from the Waterfront.

To get a ticket, please write to us and tell us how many tickets you want – you can only apply for people in your own household.

For security reasons we need everyone's name, address and telephone number so please include this in with your entry.

Please mark clearly on the envelope the town or area you come from so we can ensure we have a spread of readers across our readership area.

The Queen will be in Ipswich on the morning of Wednesday, July 17.

Shortly after midday Her Majesty will go on to Stowmarket's Market Place where a farmer's market and an exhibition of farming past and present will be on display.

The day will be rounded off with a trip to Bury St Edmunds where the one of the highlights will be a one and a half hour concert entitled Proms in the Park with 500 Suffolk musicians mainly from school bands taking part.

Nine hundred invited guests will attend the concert in The Abbey Gardens.

However the royal party will leave shortly after the start and will fly out of Suffolk by helicopter to prepare for the next leg of the Jubilee tour in Norfolk the following day.
