THESE days the oldest club in the Flare Recruitment Sunday League, Queens, fields a much younger squad.
In the good old days the team largely consisted of fading stars from Achilles and Ipswich Rugby Club.
Life president, Don Kitt, himself a former well-respected class one referee, has been connected with the club since the Sixties.
Kitt is inviting guests and former players to the annual sausage
supper, which is being held on Maundy Thursday, April 5 at the Stud Bar, Fynn Valley Golf Club at
7.30pm.
Tickets, including food, entertainment are priced at £15 and can be obtained by contacting Dave Morgan on Ipswich 435867.
Guests and speakers include Achilles' president, David Routh and Colin Ryan of Ryan Insurance.
Proceedings will be led by former Rugby Club chairman, John Spooner, who is now on the road to full fitness after a recent illness.
