PLAYERS could be joining - and leaving - Ipswich by close of business today.
Town boss Jim Magilton is in negotiations with at least two rival Championship clubs as he looks to reshuffle his squad.
Magilton said: “Hopefully, one deal is just about done, although these things are never completed
until the signature is on the form.
“For that reason I am not going to say too much. A lot of work goes into making these things happen and I don't want to jeopardise it. But if I get the player I want, he will definitely go straight into the squad for Sunday's game against Norwich.”
Magilton reacted angrily to Saturday's home defeat by Sheffield Wednesday, which made it just one point from three games - a run that has seen Town slump to 17th.
Middlesbrough defender Matthew Bates arrived on loan yesterday and both Magilton and chairman David Sheepshanks have been busy on the telephone trying to bring in at least one new player.
There has also been speculation about Darren Currie's future at Portman Road, with several clubs keen to capture the out-of-favour midfielder.
