HUNDREDS of Ipswich Town fans have been left disappointed after a batch of black shirts failed to arrive in time for Christmas.
Many supporters were angry when the club were caught out by the shirt's popularity when Ipswich won at QPR the first time it was worn, but only 2,000 were available.
More were ordered and promised to be in the club's shops in time to be purchased as Christmas presents, but two months later they have still not arrived.
A club spokesperson: “We are very sorry for any disappointment this has caused.
“Unfortunately the shipment of shirts we were expecting in has been delayed and will go beyond the Christmas deadline.”
The third strip shirts are part of the Punch brand, produced by local firm ISD, which recently lost its kit-making contract at Portman Road to Mitre.
