ON the third match-day of the Eastern Volleyball League, Ipswich Town VC travelled to Norwich to play against the team from the University of East Anglia.

In the first set, UEA put up a strong fight. Ipswich always looked the better side but made too many mistakes and couldn't shake off their opponents.

The set was nicely balanced at 18-18, when the Ipswich attack finally made a breakthrough and scored four points in a row and secured a 25-21 set win.

In the second set, Ipswich immediately took a four point lead and they were never troubled: 25-17.

UEA Norwich were now making most of the mistakes. Ipswich didn't play perfect volleyball, but they didn't need to.

The third and fourth sets were won convincingly: 25-15 and

25-12.

So another good win for Ipswich Town VC, who are now top of the table in the Eastern Volleyball League, with four wins and one defeat.

The next match day is Sunday November 3, when Ipswich Town play their first home game against one of their main rivals - Brentwood.

Spectators are welcome to come along to St Joseph's College between 11am and 4pm to watch.
