RUGBY UNION
TABLE-topping Ipswich YM head north to the sports club of the insurance giant Norwich Union.
This superb facility on the outskirts of Norwich would be an excellent setting for the unbeaten Rushmere club to extend their unblemished record.
The hosts are definitely not enjoying their season as much as the travellers.
With just Haverhill below them, Union's record of one win and one draw out of eight played has left them staring at possible relegation.
Their latest match, played last Saturday at home to Newmarket. resulted in a 42-0 hammering, not ideal preparation for facing the unbeaten league leaders.
With this in mind, YM coach Noel Holloway is using the favourable conditions to field a side containing what may be described as "fringe" players.
Several of the Hawks side (YM's second string) have been knocking on the door of late, plus there are some new faces at the club to run the rule over.
This fixture does look an ideal opportunity to try out some possible positional changes whilst remaining competitive.
The Hawks play host to the Colchester Cavaliers in another Merit Table fixture, eager to bounce back from a loss at Stowmarket the previous weekend.
