IPSWICH star Louise Jukes’ two goals could not help prevent Great Britain losing 31-23 to Austria in the London Handball Cup, in Stratford, today.
The hosts never recovered from an early 6-1 defecit on the second day of the official test event for London 2012 and defeat means they cannot now qualify for the semi-finals.
Instead, Great Britain, who defeated African champions Angola 22-20 on Thursday, will now go head to head against Slovakia on Saturday (11.30am) in the fith/sixth-placed play-off.
For reaction from Jukes and reporter Chris Brammer’s take on his first Olympic experience read tomorrow’s Ipswich Evening Star
