Kieran McKenna says the PGMOL have given a 'full admission' that Ipswich Town should have been awarded two penalties in Saturday's 1-1 home draw with Leicester City.
The Blues had three big penalty appeals waved away by referee John Busby in the game, the biggest coming deep into stoppage-time when Hamza Choudhury bundled Cedric Kipre over in the box.
Asked if there had been contact with the PGMOL (Professional Game Match Officials Limited), McKenna replied: "Martyn (Pert, assistant manager) spoke to Kevin Friend yesterday, who sort of conducts that at this level.
"Yes, there's full admission that there should have been two penalties, one on Anis (Mehmeti) and certainly the one at the end.
"Everyone was disappointed with the officials that it wasn't given. It doesn't change anything now though. There's no time to dwell. We just move on now quickly to Stoke."
Asked if he felt refereeing decisions evened themselves out over the course of a campaign, McKenna smiled: "I think we're going to need some pretty good evidence in the next 11 games for that to be the case.
"I'll try and stay pragmatic about it and control what we can control. As I've said before, I'm not the first one to be shouting for VAR. So, if you're not in that camp, then don't be hypocritical and be screaming for every decision.
"But there's some that really, really disappoint you beyond what was in the norm of anyone being able to make a mistake and it being a hard job. I think that was certainly one of them - it's at such a pivotal point in the game and was not a particularly difficult decision. So it was more disappointing than most.
"But we certainly can't afford it to drag on in our mood or our morale or anything like that. There's things to learn from the game, certainly positives to take, and it's about how we quickly shift our mindset now to tomorrow night (at Stoke)."
