IPSWICH travel to Woodford looking for their fourth away win of the season against a strong Woodford team.

The Londoners currently lie fourth in London Division II North, three places and four points above Ipswich who have struggled to make any major impact this season despite having a very strong squad.

"It is up to the team to take control of games and stay in control for the whole match," says head coach Guy Atherton.

"Ipswich have, in spells, played some great rugby but have gone on to lose matches due to poor decision making and concentration," he said.

Ipswich are again forced to make changes due to the unavailability of Nick Rush and Bryan Caley and have further concerns over John Clarke and Matt Ryan.

Sean Murphy comes in for Rush and his power on the ball will be a useful asset for Ipswich who restore Uys Van Heerden to fly half, with instructions to take Woodford on from early on and to try to involve young wingers Matt Ryan and Andrew Dittberner at every opportunity.

Ipswich have a very good No 8, 9 and ten spine and these players, Johnson, Blyth and Van Heerden have got to learn to boss the opposition in the remaining league matches.

If they control the match against Woodford then it should be a close and exciting match. No 8, second row Alex Primmer, is rested as he is due to represent Eastern Counties U-20s on Sunday.

Ipswich Barbarians, coached and managed by Nick Hill, travel to play Hadleigh second XV with centre Paddy Wright looking to impress selectors, kick-off 2pm.

HADLEIGH take on Romford and Gidea Park at Layham Road tomorrow in a fixture that is of the utmost importance to the Suffolk side.

The postponement of their pre-Christmas clash with Wymondham that will now be staged next Saturday has left Hadleigh two points off the pack but with a game in hand on closest rivals Bury St Edmunds and Brentwood.

Two wins in the next two games would see the Suffolk champions make a move up the table.

The return fixture at Romford saw the home side run up what proved to be an unassailable lead in the first half.

However, 17 unanswered points in an eight minute spell near the end of the game saw Hadleigh almost pull off the comeback of the season but they ran out of time.

Hadleigh are still suffering from injured and unavailable players. This week sees George Woodhouse

missing with possibly John Roper and Iain Muirhead carrying injuries.

However, Stu Leadbeater returns to the fray as does Greg Forster, who will start for the first time in many weeks.

Hopefully he will give the backline the stability it needs.

If Hadleigh are to maintain their Division Three league status they will need to win and gather points from teams above them in the table.

Team: King, Aitken, Jones, Leadbeater, C Lander, Joseland, Dexter, Muirhead, Visser, Forster, Griffith, Skurr, Eady, Winter, Carson. Replacements: Evans, Sands, Taylor.
