THE Ipswich Inter-Firm Cup will be back in operation next season. The competition, which has raised thousands of pounds for charity over the years, was not run this campaign.
Secretary Barry Felgate explained: "We were given information at a late hour by the previous organisers. I wrote to clubs in August and September and there was enough interest to run, but it would have meant a late affiliation fee to the Suffolk FA and insufficient clubs carried their planned entry through.
"We then attempted to run two semi-finals and a final, but this also fell through. But we shall definitely run in 2002/03 and firms who want to enter can contact me now if they wish. The annual general meeting will be held in a couple of months and publicised beforehand."
