FRUSTRATED at the decision to call off games on Ipswich Council-run pitches for the third week running, Metaltec SIL club Bramford Road Old Boys took matters into their own hands - and it paid off.
Bildeston Rangers originally switched their Division Two game BROB's ground at Whitton Sports Centre.
With Whitton then given a red card by the council, BROB official Lenny Godbold booked Westbourne High School.
When the teams got there were no goal nets or corner flags. Goldbold tried Whitton SC to no avail.
Undeterred he then went to Whitton United and borrowed nets and flags, arriving back at Westbourne 20 minutes before kick-off.
