A SMALL team from the Deben travelled to Norwich at the weekend to compete in the Norwich Long Course Easter Open Meet. All of the Deben swimmers performed well, with some excellent overall results and a number of personal bests.

A SMALL team from the Deben travelled to Norwich at the weekend to compete in the Norwich Long Course Easter Open Meet.

All of the Deben swimmers performed well, with some excellent overall results and a number of personal bests.

Alice Tennant (13) gave an amazing performance, winning an incredible four trophies during the weekend with gold in the 50m Butterfly, silver in 100m Freestyle and bronze in the 200m Free and 50m Free.

Fenella Foskett, 14, also produced some excellent swims, with a bronze in the 100m Free and achieved pb's in all of her five events.

Emily Prior gained four out of five personal bests over the weekend and was especially pleased with her 100m Free. Alex Eames-Bayton (12) gained a regional time in the 100m Backstroke and personal best times in all of her other events.

Anton Auty (12) finished seventh in the 12 Yrs/Under 50m Backstroke and Michael Tween produced a solid performance in both the 50m Butterfly and the 50m Free.

The youngest member of the team, 10-year-old Beccy Wilson, competing for the first time at a Long Course event, came a very credible ninth in the 12 Years and Under 50m Breaststroke.
