DYLAN Thomas held on for victory in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe today with a thrilling success at Longchamp.
The dual Irish Champion Stakes winner hit the front inside the final furlong under Kieren Fallon, but drifted across to the rail.
Just as it looked as if the race was in safe-keeping, Mick Channon's Youmzain threw down a tremendous challenge.
But, Fallon managed to get one more effort from the son of Danehill to gain a deserved success. Sagara finished third, with hot favourite, Newmarket's, Authorized - the English Derby winner, well beaten among the also rans.
It is a great boost for Fallon, who appears in the Old Bailey tomorrow facing charges relating to allegedly defrauding customers of Betfair.
