Fourth-placed trophy finish for Moul

JAMIE Moul of Stoke by Nayland finished in fourth place in the St Andrews Links Trophy yesterday. After a third round of 68, the best of the morning, he went into the fourth and final round two shots behind pacemaker Llewellyn Matthews of Southerndown.

JAMIE Moul of Stoke by Nayland finished in fourth place in the St Andrews Links Trophy yesterday. After a third round of 68, the best of the morning, he went into the fourth and final round two shots behind pacemaker Llewellyn Matthews of Southerndown.

While Matthews held his nerve and produced a final round of 67 to win by three shots with 15 under par, Moul ended with a round of 70 to end 10 under par.

Second place went to Australian Scott Arnold at 12 under and third place to Frenchman Alexandre Kaleka at 11 under. Welsh international Nigel Edwards was fifth two shots behind Moul.

Last year the event was won by Ollie Fisher of West Essex, who is now on the European Tour.

After an encouraging opening round of 71 on the Jubilee course, Jamie Abbott of Fynn Valley had a round of 78 on the Old Course on Saturday and missed the cut.
