ARSENAL striker Thierry Henry was sent off as World Cup-holders France were all but eliminated from the tournament today.
Henry was dismissed for a foul after 26 minutes of a goalless draw between France and Uruguay in Busan, South Korea.
The bad-tempered clash left both sides clinging to a slender hope of reaching the second round, while boosting the hopes of group rivals Senegal and Denmark, who earlier drew 1-1.
France battled hard after losing Henry, but despite creating a host of chances they just could not find a way past inspired Uruguayan goalkeeper Fabian Carini.
