JOE Francis is at last poised to complete his protracted move from Woodbridge to King's Lynn.

The Southern League Premier Division side finally agreed a fee with the Woodpeckers after weeks of negotiating and the 20-year-old goal ace will complete the necessary forms when he returns from holiday.

King's Lynn boss Keith Webb said: “We are 99.9% there. The lad has signed a letter of agreement but with one or two people away at the minute we've still got to complete all the paperwork.

“All parties are happy and I'm delighted, obviously. He has shown the right attitude and commitment. We've pursued him because the lad can score goals and is a left-sided player. Everyone I've spoken to said he is the best player in the Ridgeons League.”

Francis, who had an unsuccessful trial at Ipswich last season, is eager to test himself at a higher level and Webb added: “Joe is capable of improvement. He's ambitious and hungry and he wants to go onto higher things, which can only benefit King's Lynn.”
