The home team went ahead after four minutes when Dennett lobbed goalkeeper Snowden from 35 yards.
On the stroke of half-time Donovan controlled a loose bal
Thetford were given a lifeline in the 53rd minute when Smith was tripped by Pritchard and Paul Mleczek scored from the resultant penalty kick.
From then on Thetford went all out for an equaliser but Hadleigh's defence held firm.
