HANS Andersen today insisted that Ipswich Evening Star Witches only had themselves to blame as their Sky Bet Elite League title dreams lie in tatters.
The Witches' play-off semi-final at Wolverhampton finished level at 45-45 at the end of the best speedway meeting of the entire season last night.
Andersen was the Ipswich hero with four wins and one second place, and team manager Mike Smillie picked the Dane to go head-to-head with Wolves' Mikael Max in a race-off for a place in next week's play-off final.
Max won the toss to take the favoured inside gate and the Swede took the chequered flag after making the best start.
