Alex Rayment, 16, has been selected by Northampton Saints to attend an England Under-16 Development Programme.
A member of the Northampton Saints Academy, the teenager only began playing the sport five years ago, on joining Royal Hospital School, and his rise to international consideration at age group level has been a rapid one.
The versatile player, who has featured as a prop, back row, No 7, No 8 and hooker, is used to success, having won an array of trophies at Ipswich YM, including the Suffolk Plate, Suffolk Cup and South Coach Festival, among others.
He caught the eye of Northampton and was invited to join the Saints Elite Player Development Group at under-14 level, going on to be picked to captain Suffolk at under-15 level.
This season he has played for Saints in two successful tournaments and captained the Eastern Counties for the last three matches.
