HALESWORTH teenager James Cunningham was unbeaten in the third Annual Next Generation Junior Christmas Tournament, winning all three events he entered without dropping a single set.

He comfortably won the Boys' 18U Round-Robin against the runner-up Daniel Lane, Duncan Hewitt and Ryan Adams, beat the fast-improving Chris Watling in the Boys' 15U decider, and was equally impressive in teaming up with Harley Taylor to beat the Stowmarket pairing of Craig Dawson and Michael Cripps in the 15U Doubles Final.

Another player to win his event without dropping a set was Felixstowe's Charles Papworth, who grew in confidence after knocking out top seed Darren Evans in the opening round. He always looked in control in the 13U Singles decider against the determined Kesgrave player Ben Coupe, Papworth running out a comfortable 6-3 6-1 winner.

Despite being pushed all the way in his opening match against Claydon's Paul Midgley, Papworth's club colleague Sam Fowler justfied favouritism in the 11U Boys' Singles, proving far too consistent in the final against the promising young talent of Ryan Lambert, winning 6-0 6-1.

For the girls, Alice Potts, Maddy Askins and Isabella Clarke winning the Singles titles, and Charlotte Hillyard teaming up with Eliza Henshall to win the 13U Girls' Doubles round-robin.
