KEVIN Pietersen has been unveiled as the new captain of both England's Test and one-day cricket sides.
The 28-year-old succeeds Michael Vaughn as Test captain and Paul Collingwood as head of the one-day squad and said he was “very thrilled and excited”.
He will lead England for the first time in Thursday's final test against South Africa at the Oval.
Vaughn, who quit after the five-wicket defeat at Edgbaston which gave the tourists a series win, will be replaced in the squad by Essex's Ravi Bopara.
